Chester Blacksmith is a household name in BMX and a long serving member of the wethepeople family, Chester lives a varied life, exploring and travelling are high on his list of things to do. He has worked hard to create his signature bars and frame 'the sleepless' which he improves at any chance he can. Chester also has a strong and motivated streak that runs beyond BMX, it's this streak that helped earn him the position of Team Manager; well someone has to take care of this lot.

It's kinda embarrassing, But NO! I Just never took the time to learn.
What got you in to riding little kids bikes?
There was this little circle dirt track behind my parents house i started riding when i was 12. I loved the feeling of racing around that shitty track. So i never stopped riding.
How many autographs did you sign.
I have signed like 20 a day for the last 5 years. Can't leave the house with out singing at least 10!
Do you have any interest besides riding?
I like shooting guns. I mess around with photography now and then, I also enjoy working on my German, And my harmonica skills are getting a lot better.

I will take both, since i don't care and i am hungry all the time.

Give me a random Party story?
One time i went to this bar in Berlin. I decided to walk back home. I guess i thought i was being smart and took a short cut. Next thing i know i was lost. So i thought this one area looked familary so i keep walking and walking. I walked for 6 and a half hours! Completly lost! It sucked so bad. I was so far from the flat i had to take a bus to get back. My feet hurt and i was no longer drunk. Kinda of a lame party story i know.
What would you change in Bmx?
Nothing, Bmx is on a good Path. More kids are riding now then 5 years ago. This is good in my mind. It allows progress in the sport. Things are good for now. Well maybe a little less shit talking online could help.
Where do you see Bmx in 5 years?
Bigger and better! Street is gonna get crazier,Parks and Trails will get Bigger. More riders, more company's, better parts. The future is looking good BOYS!!
What inspires you to do what you do on your bike?
Riding with my friends and team mates! When those guys are killing it, i want to be right there with them killing it. As long as we are laughing at each other and having a good time the big shit will go down! With out your friend's riding is just kinda boring to me. Nothing better than a road trip with non stop laughter and heckling, A little bit of partying and real good riding.
